Specification for Garages

Doors

(1/2") 12mm tongued and grooved door lining on (4" x 1 1/2") 95mm x 33mm door bars, strongly braced and hung on three pairs of (18") 450mm galvanised T-hinges. Timber garage door openings are (7'-0") 2.1m approximately. Metal Up-and-Over doors are available in 2.1m at an additional cost. 8'-0" doors also available. Alternatively a single timber door can be supplied instead of double garage doors. Lock and key included

Walls

(1/2") 12mm tongue and grooved weatherboard with (3" x 1 1/2") 70mm x 33mm dressed framing.

Ventilators

As required by Local Authority Regulations, these are fitted front and rear.

Windows

Two fitted on side, glass fitted.

Finish

All buildings can be treated with a coat of Holly Green, Red Cedar, Dark Brown, Golden Brown.

Assembly

All units are bolted together complete with barge boards, finials, etc., all supplied and fitted. All ironmongery and exterior nails are galvanised, or zinc plated.

Foundations

Concrete base should be built as instructed and must be square and level (see foundation diagram). Provided the ground is cleared and level, a timber surround can be laid for the garage to sit on at an additional charge. Timber floor (optional) is constructed from (3" x 2") 75mm x 50mm Tanalised joists covered by (3/4") 19mm nominal tongue and grooved flooring. If timber floor is required, we can supply (4" x 2") 100mm x 50mm tanalised battens to support it over the entire length of the garage - again provided the ground is cleared and level. GARAGE BASE

To allow the bottom weatherboard on the garage to overlap the foundation, the maximum foundation size should be 3" less in width and 3" less in length than the size of the garage

The level of the foundation should be 1" higher than the runway level to accommodate the overlap at the bottom of the door (fig.2). Please note that the customer is responsible for fixing down and sealing the garage to the foundations after erection.

We cannot be held responsible for storm damage. Payment must be made to our fitter on completion.
